4/21/2020 0 Comments Tripets for Blush x CobaltLast evening after a very hard kidding where every kid was malpositioned and we had the vet on the phone or texting us through most of it Blush produced triplets. First born was the light colored DOE kid who came out tail first and sideways. Followed by the darker buck kid, who came nose first, but who had a hoof over the top of his head. Third born was a very skinny doe kid who was DOA. She looked like she had not gotten her fair share of nutrition.
Blush and her two living kids are doing great and we are intending to retain her doe kid. The buckling will be available as a wether when weaned. Besides the fact that Blush is a very sweet girl, yesterday was also my daughter's 16th birthday. And if you can't have a birthday party you might as well deliver a long awaited doe kid. Since my daughter's name starts with a 'B' we are naming the doe kid "Blue Blazes" as in "what in the blue blazes is going on here?!" Which is very much what that entire kidding scene felt like. Blush was the last doe due in April and we have just Alex left to kid in the middle of May.
