Another First for Maple!
Maple has been getting up on the milk stand on her own without any problem for almost a week now, but until this morning we have had to go and catch her, lead her in and point her in the right direction.
This morning all that changed. She waited for her turn and when I opened the gate she RAN in and jumped up on the milk stand without any hesitation! I gave her lots of praise and loves and I'm praying things have finally clicked for her and that she will continue to repeat this as it makes milking time go so much easier for me. Plus when the goats willingly come in and hop up it means they aren't stressing about the process either.
In other ranch news, the chicks are getting all feathered out and are in that awkward stage between fluff and fully feathered. They are showing a lot of their daddy's blue coloration and I'm really hoping that the ones with the most interesting color patterns will turn out to be hens.
